Emily Jakimowicz Elevates Penn Athletics with Marketing Expertise

Emily Jakimowicz assumed the role of Assistant AD for Marketing & Digital Strategy at the University of Pennsylvania in August 2024, marking her return to the institution where she kick-started her career. During her initial tenure at Penn Athletics, she held various marketing and creative services positions, accumulating six years of valuable experience.

Prior to her homecoming at Penn, Jakimowicz served as the Assistant AD for Digital Media at the University of California, Berkeley. At Cal, she spearheaded the department’s digital media initiatives, overseeing a spectrum of responsibilities ranging from social media management to digital advertising and the operation of CalBears.com. Her leadership extended to managing the official Cal Athletics social media accounts and curating captivating content that resonated with the audience. Jakimowicz also orchestrated digital advertising campaigns and played a pivotal role in shaping the digital strategy for significant events like the 100th Anniversary of California Memorial Stadium and the 2024 Paris Olympics.

A native of Philadelphia, Jakimowicz spent a year at Saint Joseph’s as the Director of Marketing & Fan Experience before her return to Penn. During her stint at SJU, she led marketing, game presentation, and creative endeavors while enhancing the school’s brand image. Collaborating closely with the ticket sales and operations teams, she formulated themes, programs, and promotions to drive attendance and revenue.

Her professional journey commenced in 2015 as a Marketing Assistant at Penn, where she swiftly climbed the ranks to Marketing Coordinator within a year. Subsequent promotions elevated her to Assistant Director of Marketing from 2017-2019 and culminated in her role as Associate Director of Marketing & Creative Services from 2019-2021 before transitioning to Saint Joseph’s.

Jakimowicz holds a bachelor’s degree from Temple University, which she earned in 2015, followed by a master’s in sport business in 2022.
